AZRA AYDIN

I have to disagree. Being completed a work placement, I feel myself having achieved sth. I come from Turkey. I was quite nervous about studying abroad. I worked at a famous events company in Paris. My university had set up a networking event and then contacted me. What I know now, my work placement taught me and opened so many doors. I won an award as a best work placement in France. I didn’t apply but eight company offered me eight different jobs. Then, I chose the company, where I would do my work placement.

TOM BLISSETT

I agree with the statement since each person who does work placement should be paid. Only rich people can afford themselves to work free. Working without paying is only benefits companies. So, graduating from university I couldn’t getting a job and and I had to do an unpaid placement for six months. I even didn’t get to meet the customers since my responsibility is only washing pots and pans in the basement. At the end they didn’t give me any job.

SABRINA PEISSL

I’ve been working in a major bank for the last nine months. Working in a lot of companies I’ve had the chance to choose which department I really like. I earn a good salary. And also I have a great responsibility without any training. So, what I do. I open accounts, organize credit and debit cards and so on. But the last few months I’ve been working too much. But to be honest, it’s been a good work placement.

CHARLOTTE HAWKINS

I have been looking for a job in TV, previously doing a lot of internships. The first one was at the BBC and it was a brilliant. They immediately gave me too much responsibility, however they didn’t pay me too much. But also I have done some terrible internships. For instance, I have spent my whole day filling paperwork without being paid. So my advise to you is to get the best out of an internship, and for that you should convince the company to give you proper work to do.
